Stef jo
Multi-Disciplinary Artist
Working and volunteering within the arts and community from an early and having the privilege to be collaborating with different artist from the world, Stef jo has adapted and improvised artistically in various scenarios using skills such within the realms of sculpturing, designing, audio, costumes and art directing. She has worked and volunteered at festivals in and around Mexico and Australia such as Rainbow Serpent, helping to create dreamscapes amongst stages. Other projects involved in making costumes out of plastic waste and performing on the a Main Street in Melbourne to raise weariness of the garbage on the beaches and oceans. Her most recent work involves volunteering for an event to raise money for Oxfam, using her creativity to collaborate with other artists to create a lively, artistic ambience inside a derelict style of room. Following this event came the idea of a night to raise money for the marine conservation society by making all the decor from plastic waste to create an immersive alien aquarium experience, where children were able to interact and make costumes from waste. Other small projects include set design, making a stage made entirely out of forrest refuge, so materials like twigs and waste. Everything has been created on a minimal to zero budget.
Chiq Plastique
An underwater themed fund raiser for the Marine Conservation Society. The event space was kindly donated free of charge by Mabgate Bleach in Leeds where they even ordered in bio-degradable cups to support the event. It was also interactive for children earlier in the evening as they were able to participate in making their own costumes from waste. It was a beautiful opportunity for Immortal Bloom to leave its mark, creating immersive experiences with sound, light and visuals.
St Kilda Beach Patrol
A project I worked on which involved making costume pieces out of waste and djing to the public to raise awareness of the litter on the beaches.
